How to Rescue Usagi in Dead Age: Tame Dinos — and Know You're on Track
Dead Age: Tame Dinos gives the rescue route in its loading tip: reach night 100 to rescue your pet Usagi. Here is what visible progress looks like along the way.
Quick answer
Reach night 100 — that is the rescue condition the game itself posts on the loading screen: “Reach night 100 to rescue Usagi!” So the route is long-haul survival: keep your camp alive and growing night after night, and watch the day counter climb toward the night that frees Usagi.
- The goal comes from the game's own SURVIVAL TIP on the loading screen, shown with artwork of a caveman and an orange cat.
- Usagi is the pet from the official description: 66 million years ago, a prehistoric world full of zombies, and a promise to “rescue my beloved pet, Usagi.”
- Visible progress markers: the on-screen day counter, campfire level (out of 8), new zone unlocks and your crafted map.

The goal, in the game's own words
Dead Age: Tame Dinos tells you the rescue route directly. When you enter a run, the loading screen shows a SURVIVAL TIP: “Reach night 100 to rescue Usagi!” The official game description sets the same story: it is 66 million years ago, a dino helps you survive a prehistoric, zombie-filled world, and you will “rescue my beloved pet, Usagi.”
The rescue is not a side quest you stumble into. It is the finish line of survival itself, measured in nights survived.

How to make progress toward the rescue
Start where the game starts. Your first objective on Day 1 is “LIGHT THE CAMPFIRE - Bring wood to the fire before night falls!” Chop trees, carry the wood over and light the fire before dark. From then on the campfire is your progression hub: raising its level unlocks new zones and new recipes, announced with messages like “Zone 1 unlocked - Campfire level 1/8” — the display counts campfire levels out of 8.
Two habits carry a long rescue run:
- Craft the Map (4 Wood, one per run). It activates a minimap at the top right that reveals what your team explores, the chests of the zones your campfire opened and the cavemen. A loading tip adds that it marks chests and caveman prisons even in the dark — handy for planning where to push as new zones open.
- Survive the nights. The world is full of zombies, which is why Day 1 rushes you to light the fire before dark. Every night your team survives is another notch on the counter that night 100 sits on.
The premise also promises a tamed dinosaur at your side — “This Dino will help me survive” — so if you are still finding your feet, the beginner guide and the walkthrough on how to tame dinosaurs cover the early game. Before a long climb, it never hurts to skim the current codes page.
How to know you're on track
The tip gives you the destination; the HUD gives you the milestones.
Checklist
- The day counter keeps climbing
An on-screen day number ticks up as cycles pass — Day 2, Day 3 and onward. Night 100 is the condition the loading tip names, so that climbing number is your rescue odometer.
- Campfire levels rise toward 8
Zone-unlock messages such as “Zone 1 unlocked - Campfire level 1/8” confirm each level, and every level also brings new recipes.
- New zones open
Raising the campfire unlocks new zones — a fresh unlock message marks real progress into the island.
- Your minimap fills in
After crafting the Map (4 Wood), newly explored ground, the chests of campfire-opened zones and cavemen appear on it — proof your team is reaching what the new zones hold.
If all three are moving — counter up, campfire up, map filling in — you are on the road to night 100 and to Usagi. For what each day-and-night cycle involves, see our survival days page.
